The bolt or stud is a metal cylindrical long uniform section, usually made of steel or iron. The bolt is related to the screw but it has a rounded head, a flat side and one end threaded to pin, screw or rivet, and is used to hold pieces in a structure, usually of large volume. With the popularization of the sale of unassembled furniture for assembly by the user, new mechanisms such as bolting services have been investigated to facilitate assembly. The box bolt eccentric is a mechanism that allows a strong grip on reconstituted wood furniture without specialized tools, requiring only a screwdriver or Allen wrench. For assembly, the bolt is manually fed into the part with the thread. The box fits into an eccentric hole in another piece. By overlaying two pieces and tightening the eccentric, the pieces are tightly secured.
